From the diaries of a useful idiot allow me to present a typical Jones County voter….

Useful Idiot: Noun (ˈyüs-fəl i-dē-ət)

In political jargon, useful idiot is a pejorative term used to describe people perceived as propagandists for a cause whose goals they do not understand, who are used cynically by the leaders of the cause.

A year ago we replaced Congressman Gene Taylor because he had thrown in with the liberal Democrats and was voting with them most of the time. We elected Steven Palazzo to replace him because he was the only one running against Taylor and we were hoping he would do a better job.

However, since he’s been in Washington it seems like he has forgotten all about the people he is supposed to represent.
During the last several months I cannot get him to acknowledge anything I send him. I don’t know if he replies to his constituents on the Coast, but he pretty much ignores us in the northern half of the district. We don’t need Gene Taylor back in office, but at least Gene Taylor answered our correspondence.

Congressman Palazzo had a small window of opportunity handed to him on a silver platter with which to prove himself.
He has proven to have fallen in with the Washington crowd.

IDA F. MURCHIE
Ellisville

Poor Ida obviously has no clue about Gene Taylor’s voting record or else she would not have displayed her ignorance by saying Gene had thrown in with liberals actually voting with them. And what happens when ignorant people vote based on Fox News talking points? Well you get a sold out political hack whose family makes big money cutting shit house deals off the backs of the taxpaying public in Steven Palazzo. I think Ida may have been the lady at Gene’s Moss Point town hall meeting complaining about all the foreign MDs that were allowed to practice in South Mississippi.

In any event even the backwoods ingrates know they have a pig in the poke with Palazzo.  Too bad they still have no clue what a good thing they had going with Gene.
