Which future felon will Mayor Half Moon and Cynthia Hedge-Morrell support for interim District E?

Even better will the “robust” news operation at Times Picayune join the blogs in vetting potential candidates?  Having all those bodies does no good if the editors won’t publish their stories. If you folks from New York reading this blog want to know the secret it is called having a sack.

  1. Hopefully this time someone will check for active warrants and a real domicile address that matches their Federal income taxes.

The TP without equal competition has modeled it’s self like it’s competitors City Biz and Gambit, no mass !

  2. He needs to make amends with BOLD ASAP because SOUL was sabatoged again (Duplessis & Johnson). BOLD isn’t finished helping the Feds either as I suspect more surprises are to come.

  3. I wonder how filling vacancies on the JP Council would play out … there’re certainly enough felons to pick from … PEGGY BARTON and DEANO BONANO are the first two who come to mind …

  4. Honestly … I don’t know whether to laugh or cry … Just read this pathetic tripe … No wonder he has a child who chooses to anesthetize himself with alcohol:

Mayor Mitch Landrieu called Wednesday’s news a surprise and a “very sad day” for the city.

“We’ve had our share of black eyes. We can’t hardly be beaten down and bruised any more than we are from major catastrophic events,” Landrieu said. “But I think the people of America see an amazing story in the resilience and resurrection of New Orleans. It’s actually a sign that we’re not going to tolerate bad behavior anymore. It takes a while, and it’s very hurtful and painful to go through these things, and it’s not good for the city. There probably is going to be more to come over time. But you continue to just do the right thing everyday.”

  5. Passer-by: Knock, knock. New Orleans? New Orleans. Anyone home? There is a fire! New Orleans?
    NOLA: Zzzzzzzzzzz…proud to call it home…zzzzzzzzzz…rebuilding…zzzzzzzzzzz…new hope…zzzzzzzzzzz
Passer-by: Hey, wake-up in there! Your house is on fire! Wake-up!
    NOLA: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…(silence)

  6. Banjo better lawyer up now to cut a deal. Julian is a good deal making defense attorney IMHO.

  7. Here is the latest water cooler talk from a location near Camp/Poydras. Terri Guerin who said she resigned from Johnson’s Ninth Ward Housing Development Corp. non-profit but was still listed on the SOS website as the board’s President and had no knowledge that her name had been used in connection with a loan works as the Program Manager for Clerk of Court Arthur Morrell (Cynthia Hedge-Morrell’s husband). Johnson recently appointed Terri Guerin to the board of the New Orleans Regional Business Park (formerly known as the New Orleans East Industrial Development Board AKA “NOBID”).

There is widespread speculation that Terrie Guerin is cooperating with the Feds revolving around the her connection between Jon Johnson & Arthur Morrell. Slabbed members should close scrutinize any links between Morrell & Johnson. Interestingly enough some expect Jon Johnson to roll over on Ann Duplessis as she is an archrival and from a rival political organization. In other words the Johnson guilty plea yesterday appears to have all the markings for another large investigation into local corrupt politicians. Jim Letten needs to instill confidence back into his office and rounding up the usual cast of characters is the only way he restores credibility and keeps his job.

  8. TP writer Bruce Eggler, in “New Orleans Politics” on the first page of today’s METRO Section, says “as some are speculating”, the Council may choose “Johnson’s chief of staff, Kara Johnson (no relation), as his (Jon Johnson’s) interim replacement”. I was taught at an early age that one never accuses another of being a liar or a thief without proof. But I was also taught that if you lie down with dogs, you catch fleas. The “proof” part doesn’t apply in my book to “co-conspirators”, enablers, and “accessories-after-the-fact”. I would hope that “law enforcement” or someone with more that half a brain will investigate and properly “vet” Kara Johnson before she is seriously considered for an interim seat on the City Council.
