      1. I believe Carolee Cronley actually worked in the Parish Attorney’s office years ago…so she is quite aware of the ‘vagaries’ of that office. Some get cited, some don’t. Some get fined, some don’t. And if you are ‘friends’ with and email the ‘right’ bureaucrat you can almost always get an ‘eyesore’ removed with little or no regard to due process. Bravo Wally Rothschild! Bravo.

Something similar recently happened to my Family (although fortunately no one has a dread disease), courtesy of the “heads up their asses” bureaucrats in Jefferson Parish, and more particularly the Department of Inspections and Code Enforcement. I donated my 1982 Mercedes 380 SL to my son, and found him a place to temporarily store it before a Mechanic could come look at it. The “place” was a parking lot for a commercial business (an Engineering Firm) directly across the street from my Mother. The engineers’ vehicles are parked in the lot 8 to 10 hours a day, and an extra vehicle there wouldn’t be noticed by anyone without an exquisite sense of “attention to detail”. Well, one DAY (that’s DAY, not NIGHT) Inspections and Code Enforcement outs a red sticker on the vehicle (only the Mercedes, none of the other vehicles in the lot), saying it had to be moved, which it was without a fight, which my son and I probably would have lost. But while Inspections and Code Enforcement were on the Engineer’s property, they said that some wooden paneling on an out building had to be replaced, because some paint was peeling. I drove around the neighborhood and observed several instances of “peeling paint” much more egregious than the Engineers’, but the owners of those “peeling paint buildings” were unmolested by Inspections and Code Enforcement. So then I fired off a letter to Inspections and Code Enforcement, reminding them that they illegally PERMITTED squatters and trespassers to occupy my Family’s batture property, also complaining about the CRIMINAL TRESPASS and the “peeling paint” and dilapidated wharves, piers and other structures which Inspections and Code Enforcement illegally PERMITTED on our land. Nothing yet from “heads up their asses” Inspection and Code Enforcement, Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana. Ashton O’Dwyer.

  3. Ashton, you know the score, our duly elected rulers have unbridled “discretion” as to who they can afflict or not afflict, a perverse situation given the stamp of approval by our black robed associates who ofcourse rubberstamp the afflictions suffered on us by fellow extortionists.

    Indeed, there are many times when a honest man has cause to be ashamed of government, and need raise the black flag and slit a few throats.
