I suspect there are some in the legal profession that bemoan the fact that the general public just doesn’t get it. I would submit after reading the comments to the breaking story that MDOT Executive Director cut a deal on his public drunk charge that the public gets it and then some.
For our newer readers Brown is a notorious bully that has about as much finesse as a drunk elephant. His latest bit of idiocy involved cursing US Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood a few weeks back in Biloxi. He exists in government thanks in part to the nutless wonders that populate our state senate who collectively lack the sack to stand up to a common bully.
In any event just as soon as he made an ass of himself in public for seemingly the umpteenth time Brown then whipped out his recurrent prostate cancer to deflect attention from his chronic case of jackassery.
All that said MDOT will not change it’s spots as it is currently structured. Currently the folks in central Mississippi know the feeling of being the red headed stepchild when it comes to the transportation pecking order. Prior to that, South Mississippi filled that role and the way I see it could very well fill that role again in the not too distant future.

I feel compelled to add that I really like Butch Brown, the person – but will not defend the prevailing opinion of Butch as DOT Commissioner and leave that battle to him.
