One would be the Backdoor Cafe in downtown Columbia. Unfortunately, after a fantastic run the restaurant is shutting down this weekend so the owners can enjoy semi-retired life. Today’s lunch special was a smothered pork chop with a green pea casserole that was out of this world mainly because not one thing on the plate came off a food truck pre-prepared or out of a can.
The Pine Belt is losing one of its truly great restaurants.
