Remember that buzz I spoke of a few weeks ago? A superseding Indictment was unsealed today against Aaron Broussard and Tom Wilkinson

Here and here are a couple of places I alluded to what was coming in fact aside from the comment I left about the buzz.

Aaron Broussard took $66,000 in bribes from a Kenner communication company, feds say

I love the news media personalities that are involved with the company that allegedly paid Broussard those bribes.  Y’all can elaborate in comments on that part and I need help from my commenters to fill in those blanks as I am multi-tasking mightily today.

I’m personally following the money folks as specified in Karen Parker Broussard’s factual basis so that everyone involved in both the crimes and subsequent attempted coverup should be brought to justice. Let’s review: Continue reading “Remember that buzz I spoke of a few weeks ago? A superseding Indictment was unsealed today against Aaron Broussard and Tom Wilkinson”

Slabbed’s travails with the Goat Herders makes the NOLA New Media

The good folks over at NOLA Defender have chimed in on the doings in Canada. Since we solved the mystery on the shores of the Tusket River the Goat Herders have since admitted they managed the rentals Broussard owned. Time will talk as to what other business arrangements, if any, they had with each other.

BREAKING: Charles Leary, Vaughn Perret and Trout Point Lodge threaten to sue the SouthCoast Today! (again)

Folks I get the feeling the 99% in Nova Scotia tire of their courts becoming refuges for criminals trying to silence journalism in the public interest.  Please visit the SouthCoast Today for the latest on girlie saber rattling, which I have reproduced here in its entirety as I’d like to remind everyone that Sun Shine is the best disinfectant: Continue reading “BREAKING: Charles Leary, Vaughn Perret and Trout Point Lodge threaten to sue the SouthCoast Today! (again)”

Old line media reaction in Nova Scotia to yesterday’s developments was fast and mostly incorrect as the girls go on the PR offensive.

And naturally it was the New Media that told the story correctly as the SouthCoast Today they have a must read story on Nova Scotia’s record breaking award against Slabbed plus he has Leary’s spin on what a SPEECH action will entail. I will add that Chronicle Herald report Bill Powers bullshitted about my voice mail box being full and he also has my email addy, which he did not use as the old guard hangs on to the tatters of what was once a lucrative tourism libel law business in Nova Scotia.  Leary also appeared on the CBC to tout his award and injunctions. The Chronicle Herald story is here.   I could not find a link to the CBC story.

From a big picture standpoint the girls are simply continuing TheRiot’s dirty work on behalf of local crooks.

Remember back to May 2010?

And of course here on Slabbed….

The 4th quarter is here folks. Let’s have some fun while we drain the cesspool.

BREAKING: Nova Scotia Justice Suzanne Hood awards Trout Point Lodge damages against Slabbed and authorizes injunctive relief.

Libel tourism is alive and well folks as a Canadian Judge has awarded damages to Aaron Broussard co-conspirators Charles Leary and Vaughn Perret in their suit against Slabbed though I do not know any specifics as I am getting my information second hand. This is not the first time a Canadian judge has awarded damages to crooks, convicted felon Conrad Black being such an example.  Act 2 of this saga is fixing to open here in the US. Stay tuned.

SouthCoast Today is reporting the award could be record-breaking. Slabbed stands by all its reporting on Trout Point Lodge and the connections of its owners to the widening scandal in Jefferson Parish.

The girls claim the damages are $425,000 and they are coming here to collect.

Southern Gothic: SouthCoast today has posted an extensive account of yesterday’s court proceedings to silence journalistic inquiry in Yarmouth

Mmmmm, Mmmmmm I love home cooking folks, here is a snippet:

For the third-act and denouement of this dramatic courtroom episode, during the discussions of financial damage awards and level of injunctions sought, Hood seemed more a kindly aunt than a stern justice, as she appeared to be coaching the pair in their demands on the court, which they uncharacteristically seemed muddled and confused about.

When the three appeared to have reached agreement about what was being asked of the court, the session abruptly ended, with Hood inviting the pair back to court the following day to hear her decision.

The entire article at SouthCoast Today is a must read.

Canadian Goose and Gander: A Guest Editorial by Timothy Gillespie of the SouthCoast Today

Dear Slabbed nation… I have asked the Slabbed publisher to afford me this chance to speak directly to you and to clear up what might be misinformation, lies and innuendo being promoted about me by frequent Slabbed subjects and Trout Point Lodge owners, Charles Leary and Vaughn Perret. While in a Nova Scotia courtroom yesterday, testifying under oath about their outrage at the alleged smears, innuendo and defamatory comments directed toward them by the nation, they took the opportunity to defame me with the exact same tactics.

I would like to set the record straight about defamatory comments made by Perret and Leary in the court room, on their Trout Point Lodge blog and other public documents and arenas. I have never operated as an “informant” for Slabbed or any other person, entity, group or business. I do not publish stories from Slabbed, but produce stories based on a variety of sources and, in many circumstances, based upon hours of meticulous research.

I have never acted in collusion or concert with Slabbed or any other publication or publisher. Sharing sources, leads and story ideas is a common practice in the news business and I have no intention of ceasing this age-old practice among colleagues.

Further, my writings about Trout Point Lodge are in no way connected to an affiliation with a former employee of the Lodge. That the pair chose to defame her on their blog and again in court is something which she will have to take up with them.

I have never intentionally printed false or misleading or defamatory material about the Lodge or its owners and have removed any such materials immediately when being advised of any oversight in that regard.

I was – and remain – grossly offended when recently contacted by Mr. Perret requesting that I turn over to him all email correspondence between me and the Slabbed publisher so, according to him, he “could use them in the damages proceedings.” This is a direct intimidation and an a priori invasion of my rights as a journalist.
