Thank goodness for the New Media……

Because large segments of the traditional media certainly seem to suck these days.

I mention this because the UK House of Commons has passed judgment on News Corp’s Rupert Murdoch and the verdict is not good.  News Corp is the international parent of US-based Faux News, the news network for the faux conservatives also known as the modern-day republican party.  It all fits in a weird sort of way.

Interestingly, the claims of ignorance about what was happening in the companies Murdoch was running has long been used by US-based business execs, with some success I’ll add, to defend themselves against claims of wrongdoing, ENRON’s Jeff Skilling and Ken Lay being prime examples along with your typical Wall Street investment banker.  It appears the representatives in the House of Commons are possessive of more commonsense than your average US Congressman. I just don’t know why I thought of Blazing Saddles when I noticed the Dow Jones PR counter offensive in the broadening News Corp scandal……;-)

In fact folks I thought of this quote when I read today’s Wall Street Journal.

I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers, and Methodists!

This WSJ story in particular.

News Corp. is attempting to do on U.S. soil what it failed to accomplish in London: contain the damage of a scandal over dubious reporting tactics at one of its British tabloids.

The New York-based media conglomerate is looking for outside reinforcements in investor relations, policy relations and public relations to help handle the impact of the scandal domestically, according to people familiar with the matter. This is the end result of all the Palin/Fox News/Beck hate mongering

Sure enough some dumb ass red neck down south has decided to burn some Muslims out.  Meantime Rupert Murdock, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck laugh all the way to the bank.  And to think these hypocrites actually invoke the name of the Christian Almighty in their demagogic public speaking.

One person suffering the end result of this jackassery is one too many.

This isn’t too far from the white sheet days folks. Maybe one day sanity will return.
