Slabbed issues an Amber Alert for Christopher William Campbell of Harahan Louisiana

Missing Child Christopher William Campbell

Bryan at ProjectNOLA.com contacted us asking for our help in publicizing a child that has gone missing in a parental abduction. Please note that even though the Times Picayune reported an Amber alert was issued, project NOLA is reporting on their Facebook page such was not the case until days after the fact and then it was a level II alert which does not go out in the media

With that background lets visit with Michelle Hunter at the Times Picayune

Authorities are searching for Christopher William Campbell, according to Lt. Michael Fejka, an investigator with the department.

Share Christopher has close-cut brown hair and brown eyes. He is 4 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 50 pounds.

He was reported missing by his mother, Monica Campbell, Metairie, after his father Christopher Scott Campbell, 37, of New Orleans, failed to return the boy after a weekend visit, Fejka said.

Christopher Scott Campbell is described as having blond hair and light brown eyes. He is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 155 pounds,

He was last seen driving a tan 2006 Toyota Tundra with an Alabama license plate that reads “CRITER.”………..

Wanted by Harahan Police. Christopher Scott Campbell

After failing to contact her son’s father, she tried to report him missing Monday to the New Orleans Police Department. Officers there told her it was a civil matter, Fejka said. But Harahan police stepped in because Christopher Scott Campbell is in contempt of a Jefferson Parish court-ordered custody agreement, Fejka said.

Monica Campbell also indicated that Christopher Scott Campbell is being treated for bi-polar disease and has not been taking his medication, Fejka said.

Christopher Scott Campbell has relatives in Dadeville, Ala.; Niagara Falls, N.Y., Honolulu, Hawaii.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts if either Christopher William Campbell or his father, Christopher Scott Campbell, is asked to contact officer Frank Feeley or Sgt. Robert Swancey with the Harahan Police Department by calling 504.737.4800.

Folks there is more to this story than I am reporting but the important thing is we locate this child and get him home to his mother safely. I’m asking everyone in the Slabbed Nation to help spread the word and ask the other bloggers to please pick up this story and help spread the word.

  3. There is something about this case that does not make any sense!!!!!! This is a 5yr old boy who has been missing for 10 days now and we are being told no law official agency will get involved? Our friends and thier families have been working endlessly on spreading the word via facebook, email, texts and fliers!!!!!!!!! This child needs to come home safe and sound ASAP!!!!!! WHAT IS GOING ON HERE BECAUSE CITIZENS OF LOUISIANA HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW THE DETAILS ON WHY NOTHING IS BEING ADDRESSED.

  4. Good point Steve. In fairness though the child abduction was a domestic issue between custodial parents. I want to believe that had it been a stranger abduction Nola would have reacted more proactively. The jury’s still out on this one IMHO. Harahan Police are not the best or the brightest thanks to Police Chief Peter Dale and Mayor Paul Johnson. Both retirement junkies, incompetants and now candidates for Harahan Council because they are term limited in their present jobs. With Vinny Mosca running for Mayor of Harahan because he is term limited on the Council that makes three of the retirement junkies running after over 16 years on the government dole. Welfare for the politicians is what that is called.

Hope little Christopher is safe and not scared.

  5. Danielle sorry it took so long to clear your comments from the moderation que. You should be able to post freely now.

There are some things that I don’t think should be made public at this point because they could hurt the search for Christopher. I also would like to follow up with Bryan at ProjectNOLA before commenting further.

All that said refer to Unslabbed’s 7/4/10 @ 9:05 comment. The implication that the COP tried to hushed up the investigation’s early screwups in furtherance of his own political career is valid IMHO.

  6. My daughter is close friends with little Chris and we are neighbors of the father. We are all praying for Chris’ safe and speedy return to Monica. My husband spoke with officers regarding the father’s state of mind and comments he made about leaving the state. Please keep us updated as best you can, because so far yours is the latest and only information we can find (as the newspapers and local media are sadly silent).
