    1. Larry is an impulsive hot head that can’t think for himself. That speech was Fillingame’s asking price to appoint Larry to the Civil Service Commission.

    1. Someone ought to ask the former seminarian about the apparent conflicts he finds between Mississippi statutory law, GAAP and Romans chapter 13 verses 1-7*. Which does he think takes precedence?

      * Romans 13:1-7
      English Standard Version (ESV)
      Submission to the Authorities

13 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. 7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.

  1. Larry is a great guy and very professional and helpful but he was Lesguided (to me that is scary)in those comments. I’m sure if he were elected he would begin to believe Les speaks with forked tongue

  2. The Mississippi “Public Records” Act. Yes, that is what the legislature named it in 1972. Those documents belong to the “public.” You know, the folks out there that pay for everything!!!
We do have yet another Council candidate in Ward 3, Kevin Avery, who is so civic minded that he hasn’t bothered to vote in the last two city elections!!! *compliments of and verified through the voter registration records of the Circuit Clerk. Another one of those “public records!!”
And, the Devil is “right” 90% of the time?????????? Oh, my!!! This is bordering on what is called
    “tooooo much information.”

    1. Hey Trixie – neither did Bobby Compretta but after that September 2015 council meeting neither he or the Mayor could stay in the closet about Slabbed any longer.

  3. The Chamber of Commerce’s Directors sister is against private property ownership. When cited and booted for parking in a clearly marked no parking zone at a business in down town Bay Saint Louis she decreed that no one has private parking at her favorite event! WOW! I thought her family supported local private business owners! She is a Bernie Sanders supporter! If you read the signs which I took time to do you could quickly do the math and see the public has more access to it than the business owners do. 24 more hours a week. The public has access to the parking 12 hours a day 6 days a week and 24 hrs on Sunday. Now they want to just take the rest of it by commandeering it!

    1. I think we need to approach chapel hill where they live and get public access. Her girlfriend or significant other should not have a problem accommodating this. According to their FB Posts.
We will be challenging them in the near future to put up or shut up. Chet Leblanc according to them on face book should have no problem allowing second Saturday attendees parking and going to their private beach! This is in sharp contrast to their opinions previously when unsuspecting tourist harmlessly ventured onto their private beach and were demeaned by Liz!
We will provide shuttle service to their place of choice! Liz and Viki shouldn’t mind being chaufers if they can pass a breathalyzer as they do not value traditional property rights and want to give everyone a warm welcome. Liz is well know for this type encounter! She is a very pleasant person after you peel the aligator skin! Lol! Nice people!

      1. She is a Gila monster. Venomous and offensive. Public Menace. Need to have a contest on who has best scowl her or Tish!

      2. Lawd. Chet would never allow the “public” on his property.

We have short memories around here. When the bridge opened and people started parking on the “public” right away to access the walking path, Chet commenced a BSL beautification project. This project included all of those lovely crepe myrtles that are planted on the “public” right of way and keep the public from parking next to Chapel Hill’s fence/entrance.

Good for him for being smart enough to outwit everyone else around him on the parking issue, and for getting the Corp to pay for use of their property during the seawall construction. He has done a nice job with the chapel hill development. Before and after K. But you’re correct, many of the residents would not put up with the public parking on their property for ease of access to another event/venue. There would be hell to pay!

  4. How can you NOT read slabbed. I read it almost everyday when I can. Thanks to Doug and Lana and the rest of the posts I get to know what is going on. They tell the truth as to what is happening in BSL and other areas.
Maybe we have a good candidate with Kyle Lewis. He is young energetic and glad to see the his generation wanting to get involved with the City. This will help keep some of this generation here and work around here.

  5. So this is very simple … A political candidate arguing against transparency and the public information act? That is not only laughable, but political devastation. He should have concluded with ‘Mr. Fillingame, please continue to lie and deceive. Carry on.’

If he had any chance of gaining support in this election, I would hope any of his intended supporters realized that obviously he and Mr. Fillingame have a plan in store. A plan that will surely cost the taxpayers.

I like how he argues that someone inappropriately released information … let us not forget that the ‘Susan Ladner’ had very interesting insight in several of her posts to FB … insight that could only be gleamed from working at city hall. So this goes back to, its okay for the administration to hide behind fictious FB profiles, but they get very outraged when someone releases factual information. Nice!

I honestly was on the fence about my vote for councilman. After hearing this, have no fear Larry … you have lost the support of my entire family.
