OK, here is the latest DMR Indictment rumor

I’ll repeat this one despite the fact I do not completely buy in but here goes.  There are sealed state indictments in three counties, including two counties here on the coast.  There are currently sealed or will be additional federal indictments.  The total number out there as of this general time period is 12-18, which is the part I have the hardest time believing.

The number of 12-18 would indicate a very wide range to the investigation – not outside the realm of possibility but unusual based on my prior experience.

Take this post for what is it cost you to read it but the level of chatter is intense and I considered the source before publishing.

Regarding this Steve Simpson chatter – it involves the new Troop K Highway Patrol building on Highway 67.

  1. Doug, this may not have anything to do with the DMR, but there was a meeting in Pearlington last night with property owners and the Government officials for buy-outs of those folks in the flood zone. Things are coming to a head regarding the amount of money ($36 million, I have the paper work) on water and sewer lines after Katrina in Pearlington in areas that the Corps of Engineers declared off limits for homes. So, here we are after $36 mil. Maybe that money could have been used for the buyouts rather than pipes to places where you can’t have a potty anyway. But it did line some pockets. That’s all that matters, I guess. When will the waste end?!

  2. Doug, when are these indictments ‘supposed” to be served? And in my opinion, 12-18 indictments are not enough!

  3. I think at this point nothing would surprise me regarding the DMR and the alleged activities in the recent past. Perhaps a lot has been going on with the investigation that we don’t know about. I think that anyone who was directly involved with any dealings with the Walkers or Shumate may be a suspect if they are formally charged with any wrong doing in the end. I made a comment yesterday on another post to see if anyone has heard anything regarding Rhonda Price. That comment was an indirect reply to another that was mentioned about a week ago on how quiet she has been all this time. I beleive sharlene silkwooder may have mentioned it. Although it could be nothing but I still find it odd how her name has not been mentioned since she was in Shoemates office, involved with programs, CIAP, grants and has managed remain hidden.

  4. Like I said in another post Rhonda Price is in the “click” she had an office on the 6th floor for years on the business office even heard she brought her newborn to work with her they say for about a year the ladies in the office fed it diapered it and basically turned the office into a nursery so she must have some pretty strong connections somewhere. Boy I don’t know of any employer that will allow your office to also serve as your daycare must be nice.

    1. Rhonda was a special projects officer whose job was grant management. She did bring her baby to work for a while.

      1. Yes, and it sounds like the day care center was the start of the special privileges that she acquired based on what I have heard. I am not going to speak of the sleazy rumors I have been hearing for the last year because they could be nothing more than water fountain gossip but……..inside operators have mentioned that she has been seen hanging around up by the new directors office on multiple occasions. This stuck me kind of strange since she is not a member of management and would no normally have to visit the 6th floor unless there were “plans” being made. 😉

  5. Hard to find any pot of Katrina money that was spent to meet the needs of people on the coast who were trying to recover. Most, it seems – like the $20 or so million spent “rebuilding” playgrounds at child care centers – was spent to advance other agendas and provide some great photo-ops.

  6. Now that the boats have been liquidated they now know what the loss is on this portion of the scams.I hope they are moving to recover the Million Dollars (+ or -) If they wait for all of the various schemes to be dug into it may be to late to get anything back.

  7. Tomorrow is Sunday which is typically the day the Sun Herald loves to post a big story about the DMR. The suspense and anticipation is huge.

  8. Janet, Janet, Janet (DixieGirl), are you still at it? Do you still play those redneck games … placing burning cigs on your forearm? So you want the FBI and Auditor’s to interview you. Hope you get your wish. While they are investigating maybe they will inquire about a DMR employee that was allowed to retire instead of being charged with a crime. Hmmm … is it too late to look into embezzelment? Can’t wait for that knock on the door.

    1. Oh my goodness gracious!!! ( spoken with a southern drawl) John, yes I do declare you are so smart dixiegirl and Janet are one in the same ( you idiot, the screen name depends on which iPhone I am posting from) but since you are so well versed in redneck slang you will appreciate my reply well here goes John…. “That’s nice”……frankly my dear I don’t give a damn…:-)

    2. John, it is obvious that you have no idea what you are talking about. If you would go to work occasionally, you might be able to figure it out though. I was told by people on the inside that know the truth, that the people running the DMR at that time did some awful things to its employees, including, but not limited to, lying about State policy, framing them, attacking their character, and much more. But, I am told that the Dixiechic is hitting the nail right on the head about the finance department and others. I have just been watching the exchange of information on here and I do believe that the past upper management at that Agency has some serious problems. I look forward to getting the outcome of this investigation. It affects all State and Federal Taxpayers. I think that the Dixiechic should make sure that the National newspapers are aware of all of this information and millions of dollars missing.

      1. Well I can tell you I did an interview with Anita Lee at the Sun herald when this all began i said nothing that i could not back up but with 3 suicides and one “mysterious” death my family insisted that I hold off and Anita agreed to wait for my go ahead . I am just waiting for the perfect time and when it is published sure a lot of media attention will be coming this way. Who knows, maybe tomorrow will be the day that I make that call :-) I am chomping at the bit for my story to be told but I have listened to others advice (so far anyway)

      2. Oh that reminds me speaking of the awful thongscthatcwrte done to run good employees out . I specifically remember after Katrina , the business office director hired her friend Sylvia Knight aka SK Enterprises as a consultant over the information technology department she railroaded 3 good employees out of that department that I recall were wonderful at their job but kept her friend on who most employees at the DMR says knows nothing about computers. This “consultant” was even allowed to park her travel trailer at the DMR property and live in it (plugged into state paid electric of course).i don’t recall what dollar amount she was paid but it was very good. There is so much I can recall when I read the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review some of these post thank you Walkergategroupie. I can add another page to my book :-)

          3. Sorry for the multiple attempts to post.

“Regarding Information Technology Services LOC Number 37095 issued May 18, 2007, based on General RFP Number 3508, to acquire the services of a consultant for project management and consulting services for the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (DMR), please be advised that pending successful contract negotiations, the award will be made to SK Enterprises at a total not-to-exceed life cycle cost of $74,880.00.”

          4. Pat Daudrill was director during this time I believe at first payment was made to Sk enterprises and then I Heard Slyvia and her husband split that is when the RV showed up I do know some payments were made directly to Sylvia Knight and not SK enterprises also heard because of complaints she was told to move the RV and so she moved in with Pat Daughdrill

        1. I believe those IT employees presented an 8 page document with evidence to substantiate they had repeatedly requested that Pat Daughdrill authorize upgrades and procedures that Ms Knight said were missing and vital to the department. After Katrina, Ms Daughdrill took it upon herself to be the sole line of communication between the IT department and the rest of the agency. I wonder how much information bottle-necked in her bottle?

  9. Never too late …already done an interview… Uhh lets see 118 dollars over 18 months on a database system proven beyond doubt to be defective.. And the other poor girl in there i think was 25 Dollars over a years time At the same time 21,230 dollars turned over in overage bring it on… :-)

    1. These two employees that you speak of were railroaded and were all a part of the master plan when walker and his bunch knew they were in trouble . I know one of them followed my advice and always made copies of every report with proper signatures to document shortages as well as overages. I believe the other license clerk did also . But I still don’t get the whole burning cigarette thing ?

  10. I am absolutely in shock at the denial that Stacy Pickering made in regards to Michelle Hills suicide. YES Mr Pickering it had everything to do with the investigation !!! Stop dishonoring her family and her memory, there was never a more loved employee than her. Always had a smile on her face and never an unkind word about anybody. Yes the Feds I hear had been investigating for several years . Yes she may have been questioned. But if that is the case and she was questioned no doubt she told the TRUTH . I’m sure this did not go over very well with Billy and the gang. It was at this point in my opinion that she simply could not take anymore of the threats coming at her and she watched as Billy and his gang ruined the lives of good employees and got rid of them if they spoke out against the wrong going on. It infuriates me that such a comment was made.

  11. To the employees of DMR:

If you know something that could convict the guilty parties involved in the missing funds , the harassment or deaths of DMR employees, or any other illegal activities committed at DMR by former management or current, go to the FBI with this information instead of bickering back and force with each other. Someone knows what really happened, speak up!

    1. Yes Patsy is absolutely correct and please do not mess around with any MS state officials if you have anything to unload. The Sta-ties are most likely KONnected in some shape or form.

The rumor on the street is that concern is rising within the Bolton Building regarding public image and the commentors–and inquires are being made within.

  12. Call me naive , but I believe if people stick together, the truth will come out! It may be delayed because of serious bu.. kissing, but eventually the facts will come out! Hope I’m not wrong; I have faith that enough people will come forward to end this fiasco!

    1. I think we are at the point where heavy national media attention is needed along with more heat from the federal government. All pertaining to propaganda and action that shows the nation these alleged crooks have established a system that is truly UnAmerican.

Miller and Scallans selections for positions at the DMR are prime examples among many other doings. What they did was prove to the public that even if the DMR had highly qualified candidates, politics reign supreme and the American dream is non existant.

  13. Then it’s time to eliminate the Department of Marine Resources and put it under the control of the Wildlife and Fisheries like other States have. The DMR has too much control over too much money and invites applications from crooks. It’s also time to put real teeth in the Nepotism Law. Contact whoever you need to as often as you need to, so this will not happen again! Do something productive!
