Welp, folks I think what we have now in the council chambers is a bona fide circus with Heather Hilliard busting team Young for using their private email accounts to conduct the public’s business plus Joe Caldarera is running back to the Parish Council to tattle on Deb Foshee. None of these are exactly confidence inspiring developments, especially in the Parish council for tolerating Joe Caldarera’s end runs around their attorney.
I am hearing rumors that a well known local elected official is exploring the feasibility of running against Young and the last name is not Roberts.

I did not get the rumor quite right as there are rumors floating about that Young is not running. In the event he does not run Roberts could well have competition.

considering the recent run of blundering events on mr. young’s watch (hilliard, jppac, millage referendums, et al), i’d be running with the rumors too.
As to the Hilliard case: I cannot imagine in any universe that the damning DMM audit and review of her allegations would be of comfort to the Parish. If I understand it correctly, the Parish commissioned the DMM report which interviewed 20+ employees all of whom ( except maybe one?) confirmed her story. What in the name of heaven is JP thinking? And with John Young hemorrhaging bad PR all over the place no wonder someone is weighing their chances against him. The wonder is that the list is not a mile long. Young needs some positive PR and a realignment of his administration to show he is in step with the whole transparency thing he espoused early on. Unless of course he plans an escape a la Tommy Capella and is setting up HIS golden parachute.
I happen to believe that it is high time there was a female Parish President…so line up ladies!

And FYI government girls and boys: using your personal devices for business exposes everything on them to Public Record law … that we learned in PRR law 101. While some things may be excluded by an IN CAMERA inspection by a Judge a lot won’t be…so just play it straight and only use your officially issued toys to conduct the public’s business.
