The following are the assumptions made in a reconstruction of the amount of money to be paid to Ms. Nancy Cassange from the time she started her job as CFO at WJMC until the end of 2011. The salary figures are based on information published in the Times-Picayune. These are conservative estimates of these payments based on available information.
Ms. Cassagne started on October 30, 2006 as CFO of WJMC at $222,000 per year. Then on October 29, 2007 she became interim CEO, and was reported in the Times-Picayune as “negotiating a contract.” Since we don’t know the salary that she agreed to for the three and a half months she spent in the interim job, we are conservatively using her CFO salary for that period of time. Also, she may have received a cost of living raise in January 2008, but since we don’t know this for sure we are conservatively assuming that she didn’t. Then on February 13, 2008 she was appointed CEO with a 5-year contract at a base salary of $387,204 with an automatic 5% cost-of-living raise each January. These assumptions that have been made in estimating the payments made to Ms. Cassagne to date are summarized in the following table:
