I just had the most amazing conversation with the Lafayette Square Wino….

I’m coughing like I have TB but when the Wino calls I gotta take it.  “You’re doing a better job since I busted your chops on Meffert’s plea deal”, he said, “but is something you need to know….”

And talk we did but there is one problem, beyond being able to disclose that we received a great deal of additional color on Lawrence Chehardy’s untimely departure from the office of the Jefferson Parish Tax Assessor there isn’t much I can publish at this time.  (I know that sucks)

I will say this, I’ve again had a knowledgable observer explain how the DoJ is the fly in the ointment when it comes to some of these very obvious cases of public corruption down here. Holding case files until the statute of limitation expires is one way this is done. An understaffed US Attorney’s office is another way the public is cheated of justice as it is when valuable resources are wasted on political prosecutions like the one involving our own Ashton O’Dwyer.

Like with the crime cameras and Sean Alfortish, civil litigation could well force Mr Letten’s hand in some of these other matters.

I know the answer but the Wino made certain I asked the Slabbed Nation this question:  If the Kelvin Landfill (JPL) closes as part of a deal with River Birch, where will Team River Birch get the land to expand their landfill down the line?  (Hint. Industrial zoned land sports the highest valuations.)

  1. Is the DOJ not subject to prosecution for conspiracy if in fact they ( whoever THEY are) let cases prescribe ON PURPOSE? And if they are mis-directing valuable resources ON PURPOSE is there any recourse? Where do we go for help? IMHO we the people are screwed again.

  2. You all have to be kidding – Letten was “RAISED” in Jefferson Parish – He is by far one of the sleaziest hacks in the Entire US Attorneys Office.

Have you met Lettens wife- a street whore has more class than her and she takes full advantage of the free meals and “PERKS” offered for her and her family’s use.

If you want to end corruption – in this town you have to dump every Attorney who works for the Government at Camp street and bring Lawyers in from other ares of the country – certainly not lawyers who were educated by Louisiana Law Schools – the corruption is to deep.

The locals call it team Letten – yet its really Tag Team Letten – his wife acts as the PIMP and sells Big Jim’s services to all of our illustrious whore-mongers.

Christ Letten worked for the Corruption whores in Jefferson Parish and the in Orleans Parish- Gives new meaning to the phrase double header.

  3. 1. Could it be they might use the Woodland West golf course ? From the TP archives: an exerpt of Chris Roberts River Birch connection.

Jeff Council plans to buy Woodland West golf course
Ponds for drainage would be built there

“The Jefferson Parish Council on Wednesday approved spending up to $2.3 million to buy a defunct West Bank golf course, signaling a possible end to the saga between a landowner who wanted to develop the plot and vocal neighbors who worried it would make their homes more prone to flooding.

If the parish acquires the old Woodland West golf course, it will dig detention ponds to protect the surrounding neighborhoods from flooding. The area’s low elevation and outdated underground drain lines make the subdivision prone to damage during heavy rains.

Wayne Sandoz & Associates recently appraised the 50-acre tract at $2.3 million, or $45,200 an acre.

Councilman Chris Roberts, who has ushered the project through the system, said the parish would attempt to secure a lower price during ongoing negotiations with owner Willow Inc.

“The parish is going to make an earnest effort to approach the developer and acquire the property at the best negotiated price,” Roberts said. “If the best price is the appraised price, then that’s what we’re going to do.”

Jim Ward, Willow’s owner, paid $1.1 million for the land in 2002 and offered more than a year ago to sell it to the parish for that amount plus $400,000 to cover legal fees, property taxes and maintenance incurred since a citizens group thwarted his development.

The parish had previously agreed to pay David L. Colvin & Associates of Gretna for title research and a contract worth up to $300,000 to Meyer Engineers of Metairie for designing a drainage solution. Last fall, the council took out a $4.5 million emergency loan to pay for the land deal and the engineering required to dig the ponds and build a small berm around the property.

Preliminary designs call for excavating up to 5 feet of earth for the ponding area and using the clay either for berms surrounding the property or as fill for the Park des Familles project near Lafitte, Roberts said….”

BUT HE DIDN’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE WARD’S OR THE HEEBE’S RIVER BIRCH INTENTIONS. Wonder if they used the earth for the Grand Isle berms?

  4. So after Ward loses his legal battle in the Louisiana Supreme Court, he simply has his crony Clowns on the Parish Council and Jefferson Parish’s No.1 huckster Broussard facilitate bailing him out at a profit, paying for all attys fees, and engineering to date. All the while, Roberts was pushing behind the scene, for this proposed development to go forward. Then when it goes south, mini-me reverses gear and now claims what a good thing it will be to not fill in a flood plain. What a fucking hypocrite.

*(Willow, Inc. vs Jefferson Parish Council and the Parish of Jefferson, 928 So.2d 756, 2006 reversing the lower court and held for the Council. Subsequently writs take by Willow (Ward) were denied by the Supreme Court)

    Now read these highlights again:

I know I have reiterated Unslabbed’s post…and for a reason…look at these numbers…in the millions of dollars that this Council throws around…the urgency to get Ward his money…hmmmmmmmmm

WOW …Ward wins even when Ward loses !!! Now this is what I call business acumen.

  5. Disgusted,

Disgusting would be a picture of you, Butch Ward and his mini-me, Sissy Roberts all on the same toilet at 5 am trying to wipe each others ass !

Trolling the same shit, aren’t we now?
