Patsy Brumfield – Anybody seen Tim Balducci?UPDATED

The Daily Journal’s Patsy Brumfield has been at the top of her game of late and now she’s looking for Tim Balducci

Timothy Balducci, who turned informant in the Scruggs I judicial bribery case, apparently isn’t in U.S. Bureau of Prisons custody any more.

What that means, I don’t know, but he’s not scheduled to get out of prison until December 2010…

Timothy Balducci reported to prison March 25 at Estill, S.C., then was moved a few months later to Monroe County as prosecutors began to prepare for a possible trial for then-Hinds Circuit Judge Bobby DeLaughter, a key figure in a second bribery case against Richard Scruggs…

But DeLaughter pleaded guilty and no trial occurred, and Balducci continued in Monroe County, even when his former co-defendants went back to their regular prisons after a similar stay in Oxford.

Today, his BOP designation says Balducci status is “not in BOP custody.”

The guy who answered the phone at the Monroe jail about 6 p.m. says to call back Tuesday.

Hmmm, Tuesday is December 1, the date of the rumored indictment of P.L. Blake…

UPDATE

Timothy Balducci, the Scruggs scandal co-defendant who turned informant, is still in the Monroe County jail, according to Monroe County Jail Administrator Danny Starks.

According to Patsy Brumfield’s update,  he was moved there March 25 while U.S. prosecutors prepared for a possible trial against then-Hinds Circuit Judge Bobby DeLaughter.

He’s been in Monroe County ever since, and he was expected to get a sentence reduction for his cooperation in the judicial bribery scandal involving Richard “Dickie” Scruggs of Oxford and four others.
